VITA-standard suppliers who have reported annual revenues increased the annual growth trend to 12% for 2025 compared to 2024. This was achieved against a background of delays in order placement due to the extended U.S. government shutdown.
Further potential headwinds in 2026 are arising from supply chain issues due to the lack of availability and rising prices of DRAM and other components required by the embedded industry.
Defense spending continues to grow and the latest SIPRI report claims the volume of major arms transferred between states increased by 9.2 per cent between 2016–20 and 2021–25. Total exports by the United States, increased by 27 per cent including a 217 per cent increase in U.S. arms exports to Europe.
A large number of new VITA standard product announcements were made and for the first time including new VNX+ and QMC solutions. A new VPX-based mission computer, new VPX SBCs, a new VME SBC and new chassis and backplane products were announced in the first quarter of 2026.
