  Reaffirmation of Approved Standard

  Under ANSI/VITA rules, every 5 years an approved standard must be reaffirmed, revised, or withdrawn.  The VSO by ballot feels that the following standard continues to be relevant to our community and is free from significant errors. Therefore, the VSO by ballot has recommended that this standard be reaffirmed.

  There has been a request to incorporate an editorial errata in this standard. Given that the nature of the errata is to correct a error, it is recommended that it be corrected and put forth for reaffirmation.
  The errata request is:
      P1w13-X38s+X8d+X12d should be referred to as P1w13-X38s+P2w7-X8d+X12d.

  2.    Observation 3.3-1
  3.    Observation 3.7-1

  ANSI/VITA 46.9-2018 - PMC/XMC Rear I/O Fabric Signal Mapping on 3U and 6U VPX Modules Standard
  Abstract: This document describes an open standard for PMC or XMC mezzanine rear I/O pin mappings to VITA 46.0 plug-in module backplane connectors.
  

  How to Apply for the Consensus Body

  Currently, this consensus body needs voting members from the following interest categories in order to be able to proceed with this process. The consensus body will be vetted to ensure it meets balance, lack of dominance and openness rules. Following which a formal ballot will be sent to the consensus body for voting.

  • Producer: An appropriate participant designs, develops, or manufactures products using this standard.
  • User-Industrial/Commercial: An appropriate participant is using this standard in an industrial or commercial application
  • User-Government/Military: An appropriate participant is a representative of a government agency using this standard in a government or military application.
  • Research: An appropriate participant is involved in research or consulting that may use this standard.
  • General Interest: An appropriate participant is an interested party not necessarily involved in producing, directly using, or acquiring product using this standard.

  Please note that company membership in VITA is NOT a requirement to join this consensus body. This registration is open to both VITA members and non-members. You must register via this form if you wish to participate in the upcoming ballot. VITA Members can sign up for free (while logged into their account) while non-members must pay a nominal fee to participate.

  ANSI/VITA 17.3-2018 - Serial Front Panel Data Port (sFPDP) Gen 3.0
  Abstract: This document describes an open standard for the third generation “Serial FPDP”, a high-speed low-latency serial communications protocol for use in high-speed data transfer applications. As the name implies, it is directly related to Standard Front Panel Data Port (FPDP), deriving its serial protocol from the defined protocol and control signals of FPDP. Although some recommended industry standard configurations are encouraged in Chapter 10, VITA 17.3 standard moves away from the concept of defined link rates and instead allows any link rate to be used. The VITA 17.3 standard also supports multi-lane channel bonding and advanced 64B/67B encoding to greatly increase the bandwidth capabilities of the link.

If attending in-person, please complete the extra fields for US Citizens or non-US Persons for use in pre-screening by Cubic security. This information will be deleted from VITA systems following the meeting. Registration will be closed on Wednesday September 11, 2024 for in-person attendees to allow time for screening.  No additional in-person registrations will be allowed after this cutoff date.
