Call for Consensus Body Members to Approve the new draft of VITA 46.32 - VPX Connector Supporting Data Rates to 53 Gb/s (Tuesday, June 30, 2026)

VITA is accepting registrations to be a member of a public review VITA Consensus Body for voting to approve this new standard. You do not have to be a VITA member to participate in this Consensus Body. VITA members with active Workspace profiles should sign up in Workspace.

VITA Members can sign up for free (while logged into their account) while non-members must pay a nominal fee to participate. The response deadline to register for this consensus body is: July 21, 2026.

Approval of new VITA Standard

The VITA 46.32 working group has completed the draft and has voted to take this draft through to the VITA public review approval process for eventual ANSI recognition. Consensus body registration for voting for VITA approval of the following draft standard for the approval process is now open:

DRAFT/VITA 46.32 -VPX Connector Supporting Data Rates to 53 Gb/s

Abstract: VITA 46.32 defines a standard for a VPX connector that supports data rates to 53 Gb/s, higher than VITA 46.30 and VITA 46.31, for protocols such as 200GBASE-KR4 Ethernet and PCIe Gen 5. VITA 46.32 connectors are intermateable with legacy VITA 46.X backplane connectors and follow the same form factor.

How to Apply for the Consensus Body

Currently, this consensus body needs voting members from the following interest categories in order to be able to proceed with this process. The consensus body will be vetted to ensure it meets balance, lack of dominance and openness rules. Following which a formal ballot will be sent to the consensus body for voting.

Producer: An appropriate participant designs, develops, or manufactures products using this standard.
User-Industrial/Commercial: An appropriate participant is using this standard in an industrial or commercial application
User-Government/Military: An appropriate participant is a representative of a government agency using this standard in a government or military application.
Research: An appropriate participant is involved in research or consulting that may use this standard.
General Interest: An appropriate participant is an interested party not necessarily involved in producing, directly using, or acquiring product using this standard.

Please note that company membership in VITA is NOT a requirement to join this consensus body. This registration is open to both VITA members and non-members. You must register via this form if you wish to participate in the upcoming ballot. VITA Members can sign up for free (while logged into their account) while non-members must pay a nominal fee to participate. This solicitation will be open for 14 days. The roster will be vetted to ensure it meets balance, lack of dominance and openness rules. Following which a formal ballot will be sent to the roster for voting.

In the case that you believe this standard needs a revision, please indicate so in the comments field of the registration form and be prepared to sponsor and actively participate in the revision effort. If you are selected for the consensus body, you may provide minor editorial comments during the balloting.

Please register ONLY IF you intend to vote. The ballot will be voided if we do not get enough returned votes.

VSO Meeting - July 2026 (Wednesday, July 15, 2026)

The VSO meets every two months to discuss, plan, and develop standards to support its members' interests. Observers are welcome. A meeting registration fee of $160 is charged for all in-person attendees when held at a member company facility, and $230 for all in-person attendees when held at a hotel conference center. Non-members are welcome to attend (in-person or remotely) but a special registration code is required. Please email VITA with a request to attend with some details on your areas of interest.

We will be holding the July 2026 meeting at the C/A Design facility in Exeter, NH. Details on location and hotel option to come later in April.

Due to the extremely high room rate at the usual downtown Portsmouth hotels ($300/night) we have secured a discounted rate ($184/night)at a hotel 0.4 miles from the C/A Design facility in Exeter. Attendees will just have to carpool back to the Portsmouth waterfront for dinners rather than walk. Portsmouth Harbor Cruise after Wednesday F2F Session on 15 July 2026 (Wednesday, July 15, 2026)

Moses Jensen and C/A Design has graciously planned to host the Portsmouth Harbor Cruise again this year! Come join us on the water after the close of Wednesday's meeting for this one-hour cruise. C/A Design is happy to provide a complimentary ticket for each attendee. There will be a cash bar onboard. We have adjusted the Wednesday agenda to end at 4:00pm to allow for members to travel to the harbor. The ticket booth is located steps away from good dining option for after the cruise. The boat will leave promptly at 5:25pm regardless of who hasn't boarded at that time!

If you plan on attending, please register. We have a limit of 40 people so register fast as there is a hard limit for the number of passengers. If you have a spouse/SO coming on the trip whom you want to bring on the cruise, send Dean an email directly and I will place them on a wait list. If we have free spaces after attendees register, I will add them on a first come basis.
